Conductor, Mélisse Brunet

Since 2005, Mélisse Brunet has performed in France at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Cité de la Musique, the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, the Paris Conservatoire, and several other cities throughout France. She was also guest conductor of the 2008 Kyoto International Music Students Festival in Kyoto, Japan. Additionally, Mélisse has appeared in Monaco, Luxembourg, Czech Republic and Hungary. In December 2010, she made her debut with L’Orchestre d’Auvergne and she was assistant conductor to Alain Altinoglu at the Paris Conservatoire. In June 2011, she was assistant conductor to Lionel Bringuier on  the opera Carmen, by Bizet, in Valladolid (Spain), with the world renowned mezzo soprano Magdalena Kozena.

Mélisse Brunet is currently pursuing her Professional Studies degree in Orchestral Conducting as part of an extension of CIM’s International Exchange program (Cleveland, OH, USA). Previously, Mélisse completed her Master of Music degree in orchestral conducting from The Conservatoire de Paris. Her conducting teachers have included Carl Topilow, Zsòlt Nagy, Pierre Boulez, Peter Eötvös, Gustav Meier, David Stern, Lucas Vis, Arie Van Beek, and Jean-Pierre Valade.
Ms. Brunet conducts the CIM New Music Ensemble since spring 2010, and more recently, FiveOne Experimental Orchestra in Cleveland, OH. Mélisse is currently in her third season as Associate Conductor of the French Professional Chamber Choir “Accentus”, an ensemble committed to promoting the vocal arts with more than 60 concerts a year, with whom was released the last album “Inharmonies” for the label “Naïve”.
